On June 30, 2013, a Michigan law went into effect to protect minors against sports concussions for youth athletes. In the law, there are a number of important directives that the organizing entitiy , parents and youth must follow. Our intent is to provide all of our athletes, parents, coaches, officials and administrative staff with the knowledge to identify risks, symptoms and an action plan to minimize safety risks for our youth athletes. The Greenville Area Recreation & Community Center now requires all youth coaches (Head and Assistants) to complete an online education trainging program, as well as all parents and participants to read and sign a concussion information form.
