Registration Info.
7-3 CO-ED DIVISION:
A defensive team shall consist of ten (10) players, seven (7) men and three (3) women in the game defensively at all times. Click the Rules Tab above and read through the rules in greater detail, specifically defensive field positioning and batting order requirements.
Team & Player Registration: Managers must submit their Team Registration, Sponsor Fee, and a Team
Roster with at least 9 players, prior to the final registration deadline. The team registration and sponsor fee may be submitted online or at the Recreation Office. The team roster must be submitted on the Summer Softball League Roster Form to the Recreation Office prior to the deadline. Your registration will be date and time-stamped and will be assigned according to the date received. Once the teams have been reviewed and approved by the Softball Advisory Board, individual player registration will open on April 7, 2023.
Eligibility Review:
Immediately following the final deadline, the Softball Advisory Board will review rosters. The Softball Advisory Board has the authority to reassign a team if they do not meet the eligibility criteria for their preferred division. A full refund will be issued for the sponsor fee and any players fees if they are reassigned to a division other than their preferred division if notified prior to scheduling.
Late Player Registration: Unlimited roster changes are permitted until May 5, 2023; Thereafter, teams may add up to 3 players prior to the last league game and under the following conditions: 1) The players must meet the eligibility requirements for the league. 2) The player must register at the Greenville Recreation Office or online paying the corresponding player fee and signing the liability waiver prior to play. 3) Late registered players are eligible to compete immediately following registration however the player will remain a
Probationary Player pending eligibility approval by the Softball Advisory Board. It can take up to 7 days for review by the Advisory Board. The Greenville Recreation Department will notify the player and the team manager if any player
fails to meet the eligibility requirements for the league. Refunds will not be issued if a player fails to meet the eligibility requirements after they have played in a game.
Once a team reaches the 3 player late registration capacity, the roster will be FROZEN.
Each team will be evaluated on a TEAM basis. The Softball Advisory Board will review all rosters. Players will not be formally labeled as upper or lower players – the team will be evaluated as a WHOLE!
Bat Compression Testing
Advanced bat testing is no longer required as of 4/17/23.

You can download the FREE APP for Android or IPhone, or call 616.794.8800, or sign up online at http://rl5.us/2u08hr4 to receive text and/or email notifications. Individuals are responsible to sign up to receive notifications regarding cancellations.
Decisions on weather cancellations are made later in the day and notifications are made in the most effective manner. We DO NOT call individual registered participants to announce cancellations or changes.
If Greenville Public Schools are cancelled, programs are cancelled ONLY IF THEY UTILIZE SCHOOL FACILITIES.
