Below is a sampling of just events the Chamber is directly involved with.  There are many more community events happening all year long as well.

  • Chamber Chatter


    The Chamber Chatter is our monthly newsletter where we highlight members, special events, promotions, and share what’s been happening around the Chamber and in the business community. Read past publications in our Archives.

    • January – Annual Dinner

      An awards dinner acknowledging our accomplishments as a business community over the previous year, and honoring distinguished businesses and individuals with well-deserved awards.

      Awards are presented for Business Facade Improvements, New construction projects, the COGG Spirit of Collaboration Award, Small Business Person of the Year, and Marian Kemp Outstanding Citizen.

      Nominations are open from September-early January. To nominate someone you feel is deserving of one of these awards, fill out this form. See our list of Past Recipients.

    • Training Seminars

      Staff Training & Development.  The general standard is to invest 2% of your operating budget in developing your staff.  In partnership with MCC, the Chamber delivers the tools and educational seminars your staff needs to be the best.
    • March – Career Showcase

      Parents and students get a peek at the many careers available right here in Greenville!  Tour a workplace and learn what education, personal characteristics and training it takes to succeed.  If you would like to be a host business,  email 
    • Business After Hours

      This quarterly networking event is hosted by a member business.   Guests enjoy door prizes, networking, and refreshments while keeping in touch with old friends or making new contacts.
    • May – Chamber Golf Outing

      Always taking place at a member course, the Chamber celebrates spring and delivers a great excuse treat your best customers or employees to a day in the sunshine.  It’s also a great opportunity to make your business more visible via volunteering or sponsorship.
    • July – Gus Macker

      Come join 1500 players and spectators for “hoops in the street” as historic downtown Greenville is transformed into Mackerville!  For sponsorship information, email the Chamber office or (616) 754-5697. To play in the Macker, contact the Macker office or (616) 754-0373.
    • August – Greenville Car Show

      Enjoy food, prizes & hundreds of cool cars while a DJ keeps your pistons hummin’ with great tunes in our historic downtown!  To volunteer or enter your car in the show, email the Chamber or (616) 754-5697.
    • Fall – Greenville Expo

       Businesses connect with roughly 1000 current or potential customers in just a few short hours.  Attendees take in live entertainment, delicious samples from local restaurants, tons of door prizes, FREE health screenings and of course, the products and services available right here at home.  You don’t want to miss this!
    • October – Business to Business Trick or Treat

      Hundreds of kids come in costume (with mom and dad) from 3:30 to 5:00 PM.  Get a bright orange jack-o-lantern for your window at the Chamber office.  Residential trick-or-treating is 6 to 8 PM on October 31st.
    • November – Reality Store

      A dose of reality for eighth grade students.  Career, family, housing, insurance, and etc are just a few things that volunteers help students learn to plan for in “the real world”.  to volunteer, call the chamber at 616/754-5697. 
    • December – Hometown Christmas Parade

      The first Friday in December, Santa lights the official Greenville Christmas tree, then we all take in the sights and sounds of Christmas with a hometown parade, followed by Santa taking requests!  To be in the parade, simply request a parade application.
    • School Year – Job Shadows

      Throughout the school year, the chamber connects students with potential career options by coordinating a job shadow.  This is a half day spent with a person working in the student’s field of interest.  If you are willing to host a job shadow student, please call the Chamber at 616/754-5697 or email
