Garbage & Recycling

The City of Greenville has a contracted deal with a garbage company for city residents. Please see below for information regarding garbage and recycling in our city.
  • Trash Collection

Greenville’s city residents have their trash and recycling picked up every Wednesday. The City contracts Allied Waste for this service. A large trash container will be provided to each residence. Both commercial and residential customers may contact the City Hall if you have questions or would like to start or stop service, (616) 754-5645.

If a holiday falls on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday trash day is pushed back one day. The holidays that are celebrated are:  New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Please do not place yard waste in your regular trash. Allied Waste is not allowed to pick up yard waste by State law, so will have to leave your bin full. Yard waste can be composted at home or disposed of at the City drop off site.
  • Recycling

In conjunction with the City of Greenville, Allied Waste is pleased to offer each resident weekly curbside recycling pick up. Please download and read the Curbside Recycling Guidelines Brochure to prepare and ensure proper use of the services.

The Transfer Station located on Shearer Road is temporarily closed.

Eureka Township residents can take advantage of free recycling at Grattan Academy on the 2nd Tuesday of every month from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
