Federal Tax Incentives
Per Public Act 198 of 1974, the City of Greenville offers a 50% tax abatement on personal and real property for qualifying Industries for a period of 12 years.
Downtown Development Authority
The DDA was established in 1979 with the goal of preserving and enhancing infrastructure specifically in the downtown district.
The mission of the DDA is to develop and implement a collaborative plan to create and sustain a viable commercial district in Greenville. To accomplish this, the DDA has undertaken many projects to improve the district such as construction of the downtown parking lots, water and sewer expansion to the northern and western business districts, construction of the downtown streetscape, and construction of Lafayette Park.
The DDA board meets the second Tuesday of each month.
Greenville’s established historic district is listed on both the state and federal registery of historic places. This gives you access to contractor lists, guidelines, and other resources that help you qualify for significant tax credits.
